Community Spotlight: Let's Play A Game Foundation
A non-profit organization that brings modern, craft boardgames to underserved communities.
From the Let’s Play A Game Foundation website:
We’re dead set on expanding accessibility to the benefits of board gaming by lowering the barrier to entry. Games aren’t just about rolling dice and moving pieces; they're about fostering connections, stimulating minds, and building community. From teaching problem-solving skills to providing a stage for positive social engagement, board games offer a myriad of benefits beyond entertainment in the present moment. (although that last part is pretty great too!).
Everyone that wants a game group should have a game group, and we connect the dots to make that a reality. We’re committed to meeting communities where they are, loaning and donating material and human resources to enable the use of board games as multipurpose wellness tools. We hope this grassroots approach promotes the creation of inclusive spaces where everyone can feel welcome and empowered to learn, grow, and connect.
We at North County Gamers are proud to be working with the Let’s Play A Game Foundation for our upcoming charity fundraiser for 1Up On Cancer where they will be providing the boardgames.
The Let’s Play A Game Foundation hosts a monthly board game night at Local Roots Kombucha in Vista, Ca on the first Wednesday of every month. Be sure to check it out!
