Happy Friday The 13th! Let's talk about some gaming events

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for joining us again for our Friday Morning Gamin Newsletter. Great news to start things off: our charity fundraise was a success! We raised just under $2,000 to pay medical bills of people undergoing cancer treatment and we had a great time doing it. The Soto Six killed it on the music and Great Dane was absolutely excellent as the Emcee for the evening. We even got some special moments of Great Dane freestyling over the improvisational jazz of The Soto Six. Here’s a short clip from the evening:

We had such good feedback on this event, we’re already talking about what we can do better for the next one. Expect another Mario Kart with Live Jazz event in early 2025, but without a charity aspect so we can reduce the ticket price for you all.

1. Stern Army X The COOP 2nd Saturday Monthly Tournament

   1. Saturday, December 14: The COOP opens their doors for a day of pinball. If you even have a passing interested in Pinball, you should check out this spot in Escondido. Doors open at 12PM

2. One Piece Tournament at NinjaXChange

   1. Saturday, December 14: Minmax Collectibles hosts a One Piece tournament at NinjaXChange every Saturday at 3PM. Minmax Collectibles were incredibly generous for our charity event last week and they deserve your support.

3. Pop-Up Game Night @ Mountain Mike’s Pizza in Fallbrook

   1. Sunday, December 15: North County Gamers makes their return to Mountain Mike’s Pizza in Fallbrook. 3 TVs will be taken over to play multiplayer videogames. This is a free event and starts at 4PM. A D&D group comes to this event, so feel free to bring your favorite tabletop game.

4. One Piece 2nd Anniversary Tournament

   1. Monday, December 16: Kingslayer Games is hosting a special 2nd Anniversary event for the One Piece card game. Man, the One Piece card game seems really popular. I guess I need to buy a starter deck and see what the hubbub is all about.

5. Union Arena: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Release Event

   1. Tuesday, December 17: On-Board Gaming in Escondido is hosting a launch event for the new Union Arena set. Union Arena is a trading card game that pulls different characters from Japanese manga & anime and pits them against each other in card battles. It has characters from Hunter X Hunter, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Punch Man, Yu Yu Hakusho, and many others. If you like anime, this might be the game for you.

6. Holiday Game Night

   1. Wednesday, December 18: The Let’s Play A Game Foundation hosts a boardgame event at Henebery Sprits in Vista, Ca. These guys always put on a great event and there’s only one reason to miss it.

7. Pop-Up Game Night @ Weir Beer

   1. Wednesday, December 18: North County Gamers is back at Weir Beer in Vista, Ca. This is one of our favorite breweries in North County and they have a great theme that is a perfect match for the community we’re trying to build. We’ll have a lot of games available for freeplay and then we’ll couple of big games of Jackbox near the end of the night.
