You can purchase your ticket here!
This newsletter will primarily focus on the details for this Saturday, but before we launch into how awesome that event will be, we’d like to highlight a couple other events that are also happening.
The San Diego Pinball Club is having their 3rd Saturday Strikes tournament at Eppig Brewery in Vista, Ca. This is happening at 1PM, the exact same time as our event, but we still wanted to shout them out because we support other gaming communities coming together to share their passion.
We’ve been saying it for a while, pinball is having a renaissance and it’s the coolest thing happening in modern gaming right now. Eppig is a 5 minute drive to Aztec, so you should absolutely stop by and see a pinball tournament in action before you head on over to our event. Tell them North County Gamers told you to say hi.North County FGC is has their Monthly fighting game community event, Zenith Active Frames #39 on Saturday, December 7. Yes, this is another monthly gaming event that happens on the first Saturday of the month. Guess what day of the month we don’t be scheduling any future events?
Anyways, this event is special because they just received word that the Muay Thai gym (Zenith Active) is shutting down at the end of the month, so this is their last event at this particular venue. North County FGC is the gaming community in North County San Diego that consistently has the largest turnout of players, so they’re going to have no problem finding a new venue. Expect big things from these guys in 2025, we certainly are.
And as, always, you can view the full list of events for this weekend and next week here.
Now let’s talk about our charity fundraiser.
We’re raising money for 1Up On Cancer, a 501(c)3 organization that pays the medical bills of people undergoing cancer treatment. We love this charity because they’re able to utilize the money raised to directly impact the lives of people affected by cancer. You can learn more about how 1Up On Cancer selects their beneficiaries here.
Our fundraiser is held at The Aztec Brewery in Vista, Ca and starting at 7PM we’ll have The Soto Six play the Mario Kart music while randomly selected audience members race for prizes. Prizes are assigned randomly, and you could win things like, A gift card to Vigilante Coffee, rounds of mini golf at Boomers Vista, a hat from Lost Abbey, or A NINTENDO SWITCH! We’ll have 3 races in Mario Kart and then we’ll play a Jackbox game to give our band a break. The 12th and final race should end around 10:30PM if we played our cards right.
But that’s not all! Come early and join us for a day of gaming before our stage show starts. Doors open at 1PM and we’ll have many different gaming activities to choose from. We be bringing the videogames, our friends at the Let’s Play A Game Foundation will be bringing the boardgames, and the San Diego Pinball Club is bringing a Deadpool pinball machine set to freeplay. Can we again mention how cool it is that the San Diego Pinball Club is assisting us with our event while they have their own event going on at the same time! They’re so cool.
BUT WAIT! THERE’S EVEN MORE! To encourage more donations, we have an opportunity drawing where you can win a Surging Sparks Pikachu EX. This card is the chase card in the current set (Surging Sparks) of the Pokemon Trading Card Game and it currently selling for around $450+. If you want to see how we obtained this card, you can watch a short, 90-second video either here on NorthCountyGamers.com or on our instagram.
Every paid entrant to our event will receive one (1) entry into the opportunity drawing. Attendees may purchase additional entries for a $5 donation to 1Up On Cancer. There is no limit to the number of entries one can obtain. All entries must be submitted by 8:45PM and a winner will be selected at 9PM. Winners must be present to win and they will have 1-minute to claim their prize otherwise they forfeit and another winner will be selected.
We’ve yapped enough this week and we talked way too much about ourselves. How are you?
We hope to see you at our charity fundraise for 1Up On Cancer this Saturday, December 7 at Aztec Brewery!
